Oase Pondovac 4 Koi Pond Vacuum 50409

Powerful three-in-one unit functions as pond, swimming pool AND household wet vacuum! 20% more powerful than the Oase Pondovac 3, the new Pondovac 4 Pond and Pool Vacuum is designed so you can easily achieve a well-groomed pond you're proud to show off. Rugged contractor-friendly vacuum features a patented two-chamber system driven by a 1,800W motor. Enjoy continuous operation even at depths of two meters without experiencing significant loss of suction. Choose from five professional nozzle attachments to power through pond muck, sludge or even stubborn string algae with ease. Rigid extension tubes consist of four aluminum tubes and a transparent tube to extend your reach up to ten feet from shore. Fully portable unit with rugged wheels and handle doubles as a compact caddy that neatly stores hose and accessories for easy transport. Enjoy wet vacuum power that transitions seamlessly from pond cleanup, swimming pool maintenance or household wet-vac operation. 2.6 gallon capacity. Removes particles up to 3/8".

Includes: 16 ft intake hose with five rigid extension tubes, 8 ft discharge hose, 13 ft power cord, five nozzle attachments, discharge net, and a convenient rack to store and organize accessories.

Features:

  • Dual-chamber Vacuum System: Two cylinders alternate suction and drain cycle to provide continuous suction.
  • Sludge Drain with Drain Hose: Dual-discharge option for draining waste water directly into flower bed or attach debris bag and place into pond to "recycle" pond water during coarse debris removal. Use Drain Cap during wet-vac operation.
  • Aluminum Extension Tubes: Lightweight bend-resistant tubes.
  • Transparent Extension Tube: Allows easy visual inspection of debris material and to monitor operation.
  • Universal Multi-Tool: Removes pond sludge without taking in pond gravel.
  • String Algae Tool: Separates string algae strands for easy removal.
  • Brush Tool: Scrub away stubborn encrusted dirt and deposits.
  • Flat Surface Tool: Rollers and integrated brushes make cleaning large, level surfaces found in pools and swim ponds a breeze.
  • Wet Vacuum Tool: "Squeegee" away soiled water or residual water during use as a wet vacuum cleaner.

Preparation

  • Fit wheel on the housing.
  • Bring the transport brace into the desired location. For this purpose, loosen and re-tighten the hand screw.
  • Fit the intake distributor into the inlet by performing a "plug-turn" movement (bayonet closure).
  • Connect the suction hose to the intake distributor.
  • Fit the extension tube at the hand-held nozzle of the tube. The transparent tube allows a flow control to be able to detect blockages earlier.
  • Slide on the tool appropriate for the task.

Note: The greater the number of suction tubes used, the greater the tube frictional resistance. This leads to reduction of the suction capacity.

Operation as a sludge suction unit
Attention: Never operate the unit without foam filter or float body! Both are fitted when delivered.

  • Place the unit at a minimum distance of 6.5 feet from the water.
  • Route the drain hose on a slight slope. Place the unit so it is slightly elevated. Ensure a safe and stable position. Ensure the drain opening is above water level.
  • Plug the drain hose into the drain opening of the collection container.
  • Make sure that the hose lies straight. Avoid kinks or bends caused by unevenness of the ground. Allow unrestricted draining of the water, which has to be disposed of in accordance of local ordinances.

Note: When you pull the debris bag over the free end of the drain hose, you can return the water free of coarse particles (dead leaves or algae) into the pond. As an alternative, the removed pond sludge can be used as plant fertilizer. In this case, lay the drain hose directly on a plant bed. Otherwise, dispose wastewater in accordance to local ordinances.

Use as a wet vacuum cleaner
Attention: Never operate the unit without foam filter or float body! Never vacuum dust or dirt.

  • Place the unit at a minimum distance of 6.5 feet from the water.
  • Seal the drain opening of the collection container by means of the plug.

Note: A maximum of 10 liters of fluid can be taken in.

Use of the Tools (nozzles)

  • Universal Tool: Use to remove pond sludge without taking in pond gravel.
  • String Algae Tool: Use for the separation and removal of string algae.
  • Bristle Tool: Use for the removal of stubborn soiling.
  • Large Tool: Use for cleaning large, level surfaces.
  • Wet Suction Tool: Use only when operating the unit as a wet vacuum cleaner to remove soiled water or residual water.

Note: Always work slowly, performing smooth, uniform movements. This largely prevents sediment from being swirled up.

Start Up
Connect the unit to the power supply. The unit is equipped with a power switch.
Position I: Automatic Mode. Continuous operation.
Position O: The unit switched off.

Note: When the unit used as a sludge suction unit, the wastewater is directly drained through the drain hose. The water is not collected in the container.

Operation
Unusual behavior could be encountered during operation.

The unit heavily vibrates. Turn the unit off at the power switch and on again after 20 seconds. If vibration persist then it is most likely that:

  • The tank is full (when operated as a wet vacuum cleaner, plug inserted),
  • Or the intake distributor, the drain or foam filter is soiled.

In these cases, clean and service the unit.

Vapor develops. No reason to worry. This is condensate released through the ventilation slots in the form of water vapor. This effect is particularly encountered in cold weather.
