Matala media works perfectly with upflow filter designs. The Grey Matala® Filter mat will filter out small particles and yet still maintain good flow distribution. The Blue Matala® filter media will filter out a much smaller particle and yet still maintain good flow distribution.
Foam for the 1000 contains 3 different levels of foam media: fine, medium-fine, and coarse.
Foam for the 500 contains 2 levels of foam filtration media: fine, and medium/coarse.
Foam for the 250 contains one unit of fine filter foam.
