The bright red, metal body evokes a classic barn, with clear plastic panels creating a faux door and windows on the front of the piece. A silver colored, pitched metal roof contrasts the body for fun color, completed by a matching chimney and cardinal-inspired faux weathervane. This weathervane accent and the chimney twist together to lock the feeder closed, and also act as a handle to remove a section of the roof for cleaning and refilling the piece. The significant reservoir holds 6.75 quarts of seed, which may easily be monitored using the clear panels on its front. A weight-sensitive perch and feeding ports beneath the windows create plenty of feeding spots for birds, while keeping squirrels frustrated. Four positions on the adjustable spring offer custom settings, to keep out large birds as well if desired. The weight of the larger animal moves a metal lid over the feeding ports, keeping the seed protected and accessible only to songbirds. An integrated sleeve inside the feeder body enables this item to be placed on a 1" outer diameter pole (not included), while the attached metal hanger allows for placement on a branch or bracket. For even more options, use the included plastic adapter and screws to attach the item to a 4" x 4" post (not included).
