Ultraviolet light destroys single cell algae's ability to reproduce, eliminating green water (pea soup). A mechanical safety switch automatically turns bulb off when the ballast is removed. Change UV bulbs once a year, best in early spring so you get the strongest output during the peak of pond season sunshine. Installs outside the pond, inline with tubing.
