Aquascape MicroPond Kit 4' x 6' (250 gal.)

The Aquascape MicroPond® 500 gallon (6' x 8') pond kit is the mid-sized offering in the MicroPond® line. It's small enough to be quite installation friendly, but spacious enough to provide lots of design and organic habitat options. Each kit contains the basic components and accessories you'll need to create a dynamic aquatic environment in your landscape. One size doesn't always fit all when it comes to garden ponds, but this one is a good balance between ease of installation and flexible functionality. The instructions are straightforward, and the whole thing goes together pretty quickly, too.

The MicroPond® product line is designed with the DIYer in mind, so equipment sizing and compatibility issues have been handled for you. There's still plenty of room for creative expression in the layout, though. With a 500 gallon capacity, this pond makes a dynamic statement without overwhelming a small to medium sized yard. The convenient size is also easy to maintain.

 The MicroPond® 6' x 8' (500 Gallon) Kit Includes:

MicroFalls® Filter - for complete biological filtration

  • MicroSkim® Surface skimmer
  • AquaSurge® 2000 waterfall pump
  • Pond Liner (10' x 12') made from quality (*45 mil ) EPDM
  • Geotextile underlayment
  • 25 feet of 1-1/2 " sturdy, kink-free hose
  • All required fittings and silicone sealants
  • Installation instructions
  • Owner's manual

MicroPond® kits are available in other sizes you may want to consider, too:

 4' x 6' MicroPond kit (250 gal.)

The MicroPond® 6' x 8' Kit Features:

MicroFalls® filter - Combines a filtration system and decorative waterfall in one:

  • Ideal for ponds
  • Waterfall rim is watertight
  • The 17" deep box is sized for filter pads as well as biological filtration
  • Includes fish-safe hardware and silicone sealants
  • Designed for easy installation and maintenance

MicroSkim® Surface skimmer - A pond skimmer helps keep leaves, grass and other debris from fouling pond water by removing floating particulates before they can sink to the bottom and decompose. The Aquascape MicroSkim® also includes a secure housing for the included AquaSurge® 2000 pump.

AquaSurge® 2000 waterfall pump - The newly engineered AquaSurge® 2000 pump has a 20 percent higher flow rate than previous models and is 63 percent more energy efficient. Aquascape knows energy savings are important, and this pump fits the bill.

  • Compact size works with the AquaSurge® pond skimmer
  • Onboard stand easily allows for vertical placement
  • Asynchronous motor technology offers increased power and enhanced efficiency
  • Ceramic shaft design reduces the risk of overheating
  • Threaded disconnect makes maintenance and winterization easier
  • Strain relief technology helps prevent electrical cord damage
  • Integrated rubber feet eliminate vibration and noise
  • Maximum Flow Rate: 2,193 (GPH)
  • Maximum Head Height: 12.5'
  • Electrical: 160 watts, 1.3 amps
  • Power Cord Length: 20'
  • The pump discharge position can be adjusted for better pond management

Pond liner material - MicroPond® liners are made using *45 mil EPDM with a 20 year guarantee. EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) is a water repellant rubber material that's completely safe for fish and aquatic plants. It's used extensively in the roofing industry as an impermeable membrane under shingle installations.

Geotextile underlayment - A pond's underlayment is the base, the layer that maintains constant contact with the soil. It performs an important function by protecting the pond liner from sharp stones and punctures from tree roots. Geotextile underlayment material is especially designed to cradle the sloping sides of a pond where sand and cellulose, other common underlayment options, tend to wear away over time. Because it's porous, a geotextile underlayment also allows naturally occurring gasses in the soil to escape around the submerged structure of the pond. Gas accumulation is one explanation for the liner deformation "bulges" experienced by some pond owners.

*45 mil is about the thickness of a dime. That's thin enough to be flexible, but plenty thick enough to stand up to years of constant exposure to water and temperature variations.
