The Guardian GPS Fence is a pet fence system that uses the My PetSafe® app, a base unit, and a pet collar. You set up the GPS dog fence by downloading the app, connecting the base unit to your Wi-Fi, and creating a custom boundary on your property map with up to 32 digital fence posts via the app. The boundary is then saved to the collar.
If your dog tries to cross the set boundary, the collar responds with a warning tone followed by a safe static correction. This correction serves to catch your dog's attention and remind him to stay within the defined area.
Yes, the My PetSafe® app allows you to monitor your dog's collar battery life and adjust the correction settings, provided the collar is within the base unit's range of about 300 feet.
This pet fence is intended to provide a simple and customizable way to keep your dog safely in your yard. It is not a tracker.
When placing digital fence posts to create the boundary, ensure they are at least 25 feet away from off-limits areas like busy roads. Dense overhead tree coverage, like heavily wooded areas, may cause signal quality loss. If there's a power outage or your Wi-Fi network goes out, the collar will continue to operate as intended and keep your dog safely within the boundary.
